  • Participates in research related to accessibility for the blind and visually impaired (BVI) in navigation (indoor and with the use of smart canes), feedback notification, mobile app interfaces, and food delivery systems
  • Studies the experiences on professors when teaching their Deaf or hard-of-hearing students (DHH) online
  • Conducts interviews, surveys, focus groups, and analyzes qualitative and quantitative data
  • Responsible for writing and editing academic papers and providing advice to other graduate students who are in my team

  • ​Triaged student questions, scheduled appointments, organized registration and other departmental paperwork, and helped with other miscellaneous IGM activities
  • Assigned as Co-Lead for Quality Assurance (QA) for the production of a board game called Lost and Found: New Harvest where I performed QA testing on all facets of the board game and handled communication and scheduling between team members and other sub-groups
  • Contributed to the creation of cards in Lost and Found: New Harvest using Adobe InDesign

American Printing House for the Blind

  • Developed the Android version of Flip-Over FACES, where kids can explore facial expressions by swiping through different facial features and accessories
  • Contributed to the development of BrailleBlaster, where I worked mostly on formatting and providing tools for automation of certain tasks (generating table of contents, alphabetic references, etc.)
  • Attended several local and international conferences to present workshops on BrailleBlaster and provide information about other technical products
  • Participated in projects related to navigation and encryption improvement for audiobooks
